Terms of Use

1. What Egorithm is

Egorithm is a public ranking of people who have paid to appear on it. Position is determined by the total amount paid. Nothing else affects it: there is no algorithm to game, no draw, no jury, no skill element.

Using the site to read the ranking is free. Appearing on it is not. These Terms of Use govern your use of the site; the Sales Terms govern what happens when you pay.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old. If we learn that a payment was made by a minor, we refund it and close the profile.

You must use a payment method you are authorised to use.

3. Your account and your name

A profile is created by your first payment. The handle you choose is public, unique and permanent: it is what the ranking, your profile URL and every share card refer to.

Some names are reserved and cannot be registered: our own names, system and route names, and names of well-known brands and people. This is to prevent impersonation, not to arbitrate trademark disputes.

Impersonating another person or organisation is prohibited and is grounds for immediate removal without refund.

4. What you publish

Your handle, your photo or generated monogram, your links, your description and any public message attached to a payment are published and visible to anyone, including people who are not logged in and search engines.

You are responsible for what you publish and you warrant that you hold the necessary rights to it.

By publishing content you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display and reproduce it for the purpose of operating and promoting the service, for as long as it is published and for a reasonable archival period afterwards. You keep ownership of your content.

5. Prohibited content and conduct

The following are prohibited: content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, threatening, hateful, or that incites violence; sexual content and nudity; graphic violence; content targeting a private individual; contact details, whether yours or anyone else's; links to malware, scams or illegal goods; impersonation; and content infringing anyone's intellectual property.

Uploaded images are checked automatically before publication. Public messages are filtered, and larger payments are held for human review before their message appears. These checks are imperfect and do not make us the author of what passes them.

We may remove content, quarantine a message, remove a photo, or ban a profile where these terms are breached. A banned profile disappears from the ranking. Amounts already paid are not refunded when the ban follows a breach of these terms.

6. Automated access, scraping and reuse

You may not use automated means to access, copy, extract or monitor the site or the ranking, including scrapers, crawlers, headless browsers and scripted requests, except for well-behaved search engine indexing consistent with our robots.txt.

You may not extract or reuse a substantial part of the ranking database, whether by volume or by value, nor repeatedly extract insubstantial parts in a way that conflicts with our normal exploitation of it.

You may not reproduce, republish, mirror or resell the ranking or any substantial extract of it, nor use it to build or train a competing product or dataset.

You may not reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble any part of the service, except to the extent that this restriction is prohibited by applicable law.

These restrictions are cumulative with, and do not limit, the rights described in the Intellectual Property section below.

7. Spending

There is no maximum per payment. If spending on an account appears compulsive or unauthorised we may pause purchases and contact the account holder.

You may request self-exclusion at any time by writing to us, and we will close the account to further payments.

8. Availability

The service is provided as it stands. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we may change, suspend or discontinue features.

Your rank reflects payments already made and is not affected by downtime.

9. Intellectual property

The service and everything it is made of belong to us. This covers, without limitation: the source code of the site and of every component and interface it is built from; the ranking logic, the rank and overtake computation, the pricing rules and the mechanisms that produce the ranking, whether or not any of these are patentable; the visual design, layout, typography and graphic identity; and all editorial content, including the copy of this site in every language it is published in.

The name Egorithm, the egorithm.live domain and the associated logos and visual identity are our distinctive signs. They are protected by use from the date they were first used publicly, whether or not they are the subject of a registered trademark, and may not be used, imitated, or registered by anyone else, nor used in a way likely to create confusion as to the origin of a service.

We are the producer of the ranking database within the meaning of articles L341-1 and following of the French Intellectual Property Code, having made the substantial investment in obtaining, verifying and presenting its contents. We hold the sui generis database producer right in it. Any extraction or reuse of a qualitatively or quantitatively substantial part of that database, by any means and in any form, is prohibited, as is the repeated and systematic extraction or reuse of insubstantial parts exceeding normal use. This right exists independently of any copyright and applies to the ranking as a whole, including any reproduction of it presented as a separate product.

Nothing in these terms transfers any of these rights to you. Appearing in the ranking gives you no right over the ranking.

Your own content remains yours, under the licence described in section 4.

10. Liability

We are liable for our own failures under the applicable law. We are not liable for content published by users, nor for what happens on sites your links point to.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death, personal injury, fraud, or a consumer's statutory rights.

11. Changes

These terms may change. The version in force at the moment of each payment is recorded with that payment. The current version is 2026-09-19.

Material changes will be announced on the site before they take effect.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. Where you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence, and may bring proceedings before the courts of that country.
